Our Family

The Week in Review – 5/16/10

This past week was spent with our guests from Canada, Michigan & Tucson.

Farm chores still had to be completed.  One morning Audrey carried the compost bucket out to the compost pile wearing her brother’s too big shoes.  I just had to snap this picture because it warmed my heart to see her outside working, enjoying her job.  I am so thankful that we can live a rural lifestyle with our menagerie of animals, making us feel like we have a farm.

The boys even filmed a short “movie” in which they all brainstormed the script and which is now being edited by Mitch.

Wesley acted out the part of a spy.

One day on our way to Sedona, a very beautiful place, we stopped and did a little spelunking.  It was a little unnerving because we didn’t have adequate lights (only 3 small flashlights) and there were spots where we almost had to crawl.

I stopped before I got to this cavern.

Sedona was gorgeous – as always.  God has certainly made a marvelous creation.  Here we are visiting Devil’s Bridge.

The boys never seem to tire of hair raising adventure.

The last 3 miles of the drive into Devil’s Bridge is very rough terrain.  Many people end up leaving their cars behind and walking in.  So we had a few couples hitch a ride with us.  18 of us, in and on our Suburban. 😀 One couple was from China and the other couple with 2 children were from Canada.  The wife was originally from Israel.

Serenity wanted to take me to a tea house as a Mother’s Day gift.  She had been there once before with some friends but I had never been.  What a fun thing to do with your children and friends.  First, we picked out hats to wear from the tea houses’ hat trunk.

Then we had lunch, desserts and of course, tea in this quaint setting.

Serenity is so thoughtful and such a blessing to our family.

And finally, we wrap the week up with a picture of the new Boer kid that joined the herd on Saturday.

And that sums up my week. 🙂

It is always so neat for me to find the blogs of homeschooling moms, as I hope being one is in my future! 🙂
