A Christmas Tradition – Children’s Books
In 2000 we started a tradition of buying a children’s Christmas book each year. Each year we bring out all the Christmas books we have bought over the years and try to read them all at some point before we put them away till the following year. The first year we had The Candymaker’s Gift. It’s a story about the legend of the candy cane. Then it was A Cricket’s Carol, a sweet book about a little orphan boy who finds a home and family. My 2013 Winter Mantle & Holiday Decorations
The pantry is in working order again, the fall decorations put away and the decorations out for the Christmas season. I have to thank my daughter Serenity for being so helpful. And a few more… For my canned goods, I used my own DIY shelf organizer. It woks lovely! Showing you the goods in my pantry you’re able to see all…

What Happens When You Jump Into a Pantry Make-Over
It really started off as a whim. I was home with only my two youngest and really really wanting to paint my bedroom but since I didn’t have paint, that couldn’t happen. But then… oh, but then I stepped into my pantry (not telling why I was going in there) 🙂 when I saw this… And thought, “I should paint my pantry!” I’m glad I thought it would be a quick and easy project or I never would have started. Everything came out of the pantry and on to two tables in my kitchen. Oh yeah, and my counters. In other words, stuff is everywhere! Two days spent painting in…

Showing Appreciation to Those Around You
Who doesn’t enjoy being told that they are appreciated, that their life has influenced another? We all enjoy that but how often do we express to others what they have meant to us? I know I’m certainly remiss in this but since November’s monthly challenge for our Castle Keeper girls was appreciation, I have been considering it quite a bit. What if, for no reason at all, we blessed others with small food items (especially the elderly), gave cards to people expressing to them how they have blessed you, or just did random acts of kindness for others? Not only would they be blessed but I’m sure we would be,…
