I’ll be trying a few new things this week. The Olive Garden Salad, Quick Beef Wraps, Honey Ginger Salmon and Thai Cucumber Salad. I’ll let you know how they turn out. Monday Breakfast: Eggs, toast, fruit Supper: Our 4-H club is serving pizza. I’ll bring along an Olive Garden Salad. Tuesday Breakfast: Serenity’s day to make breakfast. We’re having an open house for the real estate agents so we better have something easy! I’ll suggest to Serenity to make a healthy shake so we can have easy clean-up. Supper: We’re having a special guest – the man who bought our kids’ 4-H animals this year and who has been a…

  • Best White Icing Ever

    May 29, 2009 / 5 Comments

When preparing for a birthday party, for some reason I never feel like I have the time to make a birthday cake from scratch. I usually buy a cake mix, maybe make my own icing or purchase some. I really dislike store icing and yet I didn’t have any homemade icing recipe that I was bowled over by – until Justus’s birthday. I found one at Allrecipes that I’m hooked on. Honestly, I kept going back for more cake just so I could have a little more frosting. Of course, I’ve always been a frosting gal. Give me some icing, along with ice cream, and I’m happy. But I think…

Never Say DietWritten by: Chantel Hobbs223 pagesPublisher: WaterBrook PressThis book has done something for me that no other book has been able to do. It has motivated me to consistently exercise. Chantel Hobbs once weighed 349 pounds at the young age of 29. She was married to a man who never belittled her for her heaviness but he didn’t have to – Chantel beat herself up over it. She hated looking at herself in the mirror and she worried that her kids would have no mother because she would die young. It wasn’t until she became totally miserable that she chose to do something about it. One night while driving…

It may take a while for your browser to load all the pictures. I have a lot! It’s always a lot of fun for me to plan my kids’ birthday parties. I especially like themes. This was Justus’s first birthday party where we invited friends over to help him celebrate so he was pretty excited. I get a lot of ideas from browsing the web but probably my most favorite site for planning birthdays is Birthday Party Ideas. Who would have thought? Most of the ideas I used for Justus’s party, if not all, came from that site. This cake was so simple but fun. I used these figures from…
