What treasure? What heirloom could it be holding? Oh, I must find out!

002

Aggghhh! What is this MESS?!

004

A game trunk that needs Organization. It happened one evening my little ones and some other small visitors had a lot of [choke, choke] fun seeing how many games they could pull out. Havoc was wreaked.

This has nagged me for weeks but I determined to tackle it this week. I bought a few plastic storage containers. Two big ones that will store 2 or 3 games each (depending on the size) and a smaller shoe box size one to hold card games. My thinking is that if they need a game on the bottom of the trunk it will be much easier to lift out a container holding several games instead of removing one at a time – which hardly happened. Instead games were turned on end to try and get to the bottom.

What a relief to get this job done!

Tackle It Tuesday #141 https://treasuringthemoments.net/2009/02/03/tackle-it-tuesday-141-2/ https://treasuringthemoments.net/2009/02/03/tackle-it-tuesday-141-2/#comments Tue, 03 Feb 2009 14:54:00 +0000 http://homeschoolblogger.com/timbuck2mom/693026/ My tackle this week was to get some bulk cooking done for different guests we have coming to visit. Who wouldn’t want to visit Arizona with all the sunshine and nice temperatures we have in the winter?

I decided to make lasagna. First, I had to make the sauce. Lots of onions and garlic. Good stuff.

I tried a new sauce that called for fresh and canned tomatoes. After the simmering process, I then put it through the blender to puree.

Twelve pounds of ricotta was used as well as mozzarella and Parmesan. Whoa! That’s a lot of cheese!

The finished products. Enough lasagna to feed at least 45 people.

But my tackle wasn’t over. I had to take on this. Ugh. It went pretty fast though since I had already rinsed everything out.

I know what’s on the menu for at least 2 times this month. Wanna join us?

Scrub Oak
Cyphomardra Betacea

Scrub Oak, as it is commonly called, is a very resilient and tough bush. It is to be found all over our valley. It produces acorns which are not quite the same size as a large oak tree would produce.
They have acorns that are bitter and have a certain amount of toxicity. So be safe when you eat acorns. Remember, “Safety first.”

*For the A B See Photo Meme, I’m approaching it this way: my children will use this for their nature study. Each one has their own letter from the alphabet (starting at A) and they are to find something in nature that corresponds with that letter. They take a photo of it and place it in their Nature Study journal, as well as writing a few facts about it.

Alligator Bark Juniper
Juniperus Deppeana Steud

The alligator bark juniper, called so because its bark resembles alligator skin. It is only found in Arizona, New Mexico and Texas and can grow to 55′ tall.

A B See Photo Meme https://treasuringthemoments.net/2009/01/07/a-b-see-photo-meme-2/ https://treasuringthemoments.net/2009/01/07/a-b-see-photo-meme-2/#respond Wed, 07 Jan 2009 13:48:00 +0000 http://homeschoolblogger.com/timbuck2mom/693004/

This might get interesting. I can do this every Friday or not – depending on if I get it done. Sounds good to me.

Here are the rules… be sure to post them when you join!

1. Post a photo for each letter of the alphabet of anything that starts with that letter.

2. Write a few short explanatory, quirky, or witty sentences about each photo you post.

3. Only post one photo at a time (the meme can take as long as you want – a month, three months, whatever… you aren’t being graded). You can link them later in a blog post so they are listed in order if you are the list-making type.

4. If you want to join the meme, sign the Mr. Linky and use the “A B See Photo-Meme” graphic in your sidebar. Link your graphic to this post and announce that you will be joining us.

5. When you post a photo, come by and add it to the weekly A B See linky that we’ll be posting on Foto Fridays for those who have some alphabetical photo to share. You can sign it each week as many times as you have posted photos – one time for each photo linked post. Make sure you link back to the HSBA on your posts, too – so others can come and join the linky.
