• A Special Evening – 60 Years of Marriage

Our guests are all gone now and we’re just getting the house back in order, laundry under control and some sleep, too!  But this past weekend we got to be part of a special evening – my sister’s mother and father-in-law were celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary.  I was elected to make the Tomato Caprese Salad.  Never having made one, it took me several tries and many questions to finally figure out how it’s done. In this picture I am not doing it correctly, but I’m blissfully unaware of it at the moment. ðŸ™‚ There was flower arranging being done by the expert family floral designer… antipasto platters being prepared… jars being filled with…

  • Bible Verses Prophesying Jesus’ Birth & Plus a Few Others

If you’re looking for some Bible verses to read this Christmas, here are several. “Therefore the LORD Himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a Son, and shall call His Name Immanuel” (Isaiah 7:14). “6 For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His Name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince Of Peace. 7 Of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his Kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with Judgment and with…

  • Taste and See

The following is a little story taken from a sermon William Branham preached in 1953 called “Show Us the Father and It’ll Satisfy Us” People who are taught that there is no such a thing as the Holy Spirit, don’t know what they’re talking about. Like that boy once peeling an apple, and was asked by an infidel, debating a meeting. He said, “What do you want, what do you want up here?” He said, “I want to ask you a question.” While he was eating the apple and enjoying it, a very simple, sort of, looked like a delinquent person with the hair hanging in his face, and one…

  • Farewell Till 2009

The results are in on the ‘Crumby’ poll.  Most of you do not advocate sweeping the crumbs onto the floor.  I’ll have to break the news to them today.  I’m sure it’s going to break their hearts.  One of my boys tried to manipulate the results by voting more then once – but it wouldn’t allow him to since he would be using the same IP address.  Therefore, I didn’t get to vote either since he beat me to it!  Only a few days till Christmas, most of the gifts are wrapped and we’re all looking forward to spending time with extended family.  Christmas will be at my sisters house this year.  They…

  • Keeping Track of Accomplishments

You may have read on Doug Phillip’s blog this entry about chronicling the Providences of God that occurred in your family in the past year.  One morning around the breakfast table this week we discussed this and I (as the family secretary ) wrote down my family’s replies.  I plan to type it up and place it in a notebook.  Then, hopefully, each year we will add to it. Doing this got me to thinking about what books I had read in 2007 and what projects I had completed.  I was very disappointed that I could think of very little.  Yes, maybe I forgot a few, but I could only think of 2 books that I…
