• A New Castle Keeper Year Has Begun

Our 3rd year of Castle Keepers has begun. Well, it actually began a few months ago. We have 29 girls involved in the club now but only 11 of them are local.  Most of our members are located far away from our state of Arizona. It has been really wonderful to see the girls getting their challenges done and encouraging one another with their projects. Fall means cooler weather and it also means it’s time to find a tree that you can pick apples from here in Arizona, so we started the year off here locally learning how to make applesauce and apple butter. September “…he kept him as the…

  • Visiting a Piece of History Past with the Castle Keeper Girls

It was a memorable two days. Nine girls, one boy, along with Russell and I, took the Castle Keeper girls on their end-of-year-outing. A two-day Arizona road trip to places we’ve never seen before. Taking along our cowgirl apparel. On the road! Our first stop was the Petrified Forest. Not a standing forest by any means but one where trees are lying on the ground or even in pieces here and there. Evolutionists say it took millions of years for the trees to become fossilized, (That’s some kind of dating system, don’t you think? lol) but there are creationists that believe it could have happened during Noah’s flood. There is…

  • What Can Happen in a Year…

Today I wanted to share a couple of slide shows that I made recently. The first slideshow is of one of our Castle Keeper girls that became engaged recently. When viewing it, it makes me realize what a brief time we have with these girls. Our first Castle Keeper to get married and to graduate out of the club. Haha! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ElgpKRwqMI0 And the second one is an overview of our Castle Keeper year showcasing our monthly meetings and challenges. Hope you enjoy!

  • Painted Rocks by the Castle Keeper Girls

We’re wrapping up the year for our Castle Keeper girls. They’ve just finished up their last monthly challenge which was to paint a rock. “A rock”, you say? Oh yes, and cute they are! ~~~~~ These owls and ladybugs were even named! “May I introduce you to Jethro, Francis, Kyle and Oliver?” Does that inspire you to make your own? But, wait! Before you run off to paint yours, I have a few more I would like to share. 🙂 This lovely butterfly is from the hand of an artist in Brazil. I wonder what type butterfly it is? The following rocks were collected while on special outings. One carried…

  • Castle Keeper Girls Make Their Own Gift Wrap

Most of the time I haven’t any problem thinking of new challenges for the Castle Keeper girls. It’s actually kind of fun looking for ideas for the girls. This past month they did gift wrapping and bow toppers. They were to wrap a book or some other item (it did not have to be a real gift) and make their own wrapping paper as well as a bow topper.  The girls 13 and up had to do 4 different packages and 12 and under only had to do one. Here’s a sampling of their work.   Audrey (age 9) took a potato and dipped it in red paint to make…
