A Humorous Moment with our 3-Year Old
We had a family from Canada staying at our house for a few days. One night at supper I served broccoli. I put just a bit on JM’s plate. (our 3 year old) He finished all his food except for the one piece of broccoli. He then started playing with my husband’s cell phone. The man from Canada thought he’d play a little joke on JM. Using his cell phone he called our cell. JM answered. "Hello, JM. This is ….. (He’s sitting right next to JM with his back turned and talking in a low voice.) "Hello," replied JM. "JM, have you eaten your broccoli?" JM gets a funny smile on his face, takes the…

Our 2006 Christmas – Part II
We spent a week in Tucson with my parents and my sister and her family. Mom had an horsdoeurve party on Christmas Eve and we ate and then opened Christmas presents by the warm fire. Christmas day we had a traditional feast of turkey and the fixins’. AE had her first up-close encounter with a banty chicken. Looks like she’s enjoying the moment. The real highlight was the children putting on a play about the birth of Jesus. What a wonderful job they did with only a small amount of practice. My daughter SH as Mary. The cast of characters. My nephew was trying to recruit some of the…

Our 2006 Christmas
We arrived home from our trip to Pennsylvania on the 8th of December. I felt quite prepared for Christmas as I had our Christmas picture already taken, I had finally been inspired to write our annual newsletter and gifts were purchased. But then I decided I should get a program that could print addresses on our Christmas envelopes. I found an address program on the Internet from AllPro Software for $29.99 and was able to download it right then. But then I had to enter in all the addresses. This took me about a day to do. By the way, this is a really great program. I recommend it. They…

Our Thanksgiving Vacation
Where do I begin?! So many things have happened this month. I haven’t had much opportunity to think about updating my blog. I guess I’ll know better next year that it’s almost impossible to keep Treasuring the Moments up-to-date when I’m being overwhelmed by my to-do list. A few notes about our Thanksgiving trip to Pennsylvania: We left home on a Saturday night about 10 p.m. (you know – when you’re feeling your freshest) and drove straight-thru to Pennsylvania – about 36 hours. Our oldest son, SM, is 16 and was a big help by driving about 17 hours. Myself – well I put in about 2 hours and was maxed out. The day…

Having a 3 Year Old is Fun
This is our 3 1/2 year old, JM. I wanted to record some of the really cute things hes saying lately. Last week, when I wasnt feeling well and being served breakfast in bed, (SH wanted to serve me) JM came to join me. Then SH came too. JM started making a bit of a mess with his eggs on the bed, so I told him he had to go eat in the kitchen with the rest of the family. After he crawled off the bed I realized he could share the bedside tray with me, which was placed at the side of the bed. I asked him if he wanted to…
