Week in Review 11/14 – 12/4 Part II
Continuing on with our PA trip… Part I can be found here. Hope you enjoy. Valley Forge was our first stop. Valley Forge is where Washington stayed for the winter of 1777-1778. The American army was in bad shape with many having no shoes and very little food. Washington wrote of the Army saying that if things did no change they must, “Starve, dissolve, or disperse, in order to obtain subsistence in the best manner they can.” For the lack of nourishment and proper clothing and because of the crowded and damp conditions, disease swept through the troops with 2,000 men dying that winter. Valley Forge was so named because there was a forge there…

Week in Review 11/14 – 12/4 Part I
Russ and the boys were elk hunting the week before we went to Pennsylvania. He managed to get this bull elk the last day of the hunt with his muzzleloader. It’s not a trophy but still a decent sized one. Then it was off to Pennsylvania for 10 days… Audrey and Justus were quite excited to fly in an airplane. This wasn’t their first time but the first time they could remember actually doing it. Upon our arrival my sister had goody bags for each of us… So organized to get that all together and very very thoughtful. Of course there was an abundance of food… Truly. 🙂 Music almost…

Home from the Keystone State – Pennsylvania
Hellllooo. After being gone 10 days to see my sister and her family over the Thanksgiving holidays we’re back in the sunny state of Arizona …with big head colds. The Kleenex box is my best friend right now. 🙂 Monday I’ll do catch-up on our trip photos but today I’ll share with you some of the food we had on Thanksgiving that I thought was creative. This is the most beautiful jello I have ever seen. I’m not even a fan of jello but I still thought this was outstanding in its presentation. Agree? The same lady who made the jello also made this outstanding bread. Not only did it…

Week in Review 11/7/10
This week my dear husband left for his bull elk hunt along with a few friends from out of state. I managed to get all my meals made and they managed to get everything packed up. All this in addition to one more vehicle loaded down. That’s a lot of stuff. Do you agree? We went to a Thanksgiving tea for the girls. They each got to make their own caramel apple which they really liked. Especially Audrey. My sweet-loving Audrey. Have a happy week,

A Family Emergency
I’m always hesitant to say at the end of a post, “See you on such-and-such a day” and Monday was no different. Little did I know that on Monday morning, after I had posted, I would receive a phone call from my dad telling me he was in the hospital and that he’d had a light heart attack. Not only was surgery over but it was the day after surgery. Dad really thought he was going to the hospital for no reason. He had been having chest pains for 1 1/2 weeks and his legs were very weak but he was having no pain in his arms like he heard…
