A Fun Hello Kitty Party
I finally got my act together and gave Audrey her 7th birthday party. Her birthday was at Thanksgiving time but you know how busy the holiday season can be, so missy didn’t get one until this past weekend. It was her very first birthday party she’s had where she got to invite friends and she was so excited, not to mention helpful in the planning. She chose the theme Hello Kitty. I found plenty of inspiration online for the party and then this great Hello Kitty birthday printables kit for FREE by Shery K Designs was perfect. The printables are adorable and the variety of items to use are just great. These…

My Son is Engaged!
January 1, 2013 will always be memorable in that fact that my son, Zachary became engaged. The same Zachary that graduated in August 2011 and the same one whose life was spared in an auto accident in 2011 From a tiny little boy – only 7lbs. 1oz…. He grew up on me. He’s known Hannah for about 4 years but they didn’t start courting till this past October. He was already a goner before he started courting Hannah, so you can imagine what he was like after. 🙂 He is so happy and I’m thrilled that the Lord has given him the desires of his heart – a wonderful Christian girl who will…

Christmas of 2012
Hello everyone! I hope you had a Merry Christmas. We had ourselves a wonderful time during the Christmas season. It was Christmas with my side of the family this year. Mom and Dad were here as well as my sister and her entire family for a grand total of 22. Even Seth was here after being gone to Manitoba for over a month commercial ice fishing. It’s a family joke, Seth’s rather non-talkative nature. So, Serenity drew this image before ironing it onto a shirt for Seth. On Oscar the Gouch’s trash can it say’s, “You talkin’ to me?” Christmas Eve we had an informal Asian meal. We sang some hymns, played some games and watched…

These Hands
As I was snapping a few pictures at Thanksgiving, I did a close-up of mom and dad carving the turkey. I’ve learned that you never know what pictures will be the ones you end up loving. Mom said, “What can you do with a picture like that?” I gave her a few reasons – such as I might want to make a post on my blog about “These Hands”. So here it is mom. These hands held me in the first few minutes of life. I’m sure they touched my ears, my nose, my little feet and yes, even my little hands as they marveled at the miracle of…

Minnowing in Canada – What? You Didn’t Know That was a Word? Cross My Fingers – it Really is!
I really should have made this post several months ago, but well, here it is now. Seth flew to Manitoba this past summer to minnow with his cousin, Nathan. Nathan lives the life my son dreams of, hunting, trapping as well as doing guided hunts. Now Nathan has a new venture of minnowing which is simply catching minnows and shipping them off to be sold in stores. You may think this doesn’t sound like much of a job but if I told you they were catching approximately 70,000 minnows a day, it might change your perspective. In much te same way that salmon do their run at a certain time of…
