A Four Thousand Mile Road Trip
We just arrived home from youth camp. It was a really enjoyable time. Here’s a quick overview of the trip. Before the trip began. All fresh and ready to hit the road. The campground was at a new location and overall, I think it’s better. There was a zipline that almost all of us ladies had to try. Of course, there was lots of screaming. 🙂 Excellent preaching – I really liked the object lesson here. Because I was a worker at the camp, Audrey was able to be a camper. She had a great time joining in on the activities, and reciting and singing with her dorm in…

A Little Food Love
We have started on the great garage clean-up. Not done yet but it’s lookin’ good – For a garage. 🙂 It won’t be a Martha Stewart work of art but we’ll feel just as pleased about it as if it were. I’ve been monkeying around with my computer since it got that virus and we’ve been a little busy around here with some get-togethers. Of course, with these gatherings that means my life has been centered around food. Yum. 🙂 At a dinner celebrating my in-laws 59th wedding anniversary. This fish was called butterfish. Have you ever heard of it? So mild you wouldn’t have thought it was fish you were eating. …

Organizing the Garage – the Beginning – Part II
A virus hit my home last week. It wasn’t pretty and I lost a lot of time trying to make it better. But thankfully the doctor took care of it. The PC doctor that is. I had an enforced writing break when my computer got a virus and had to go to the shop. Thankfully, nothing was lost except my time as I attempted to self-diagnose it. I’m glad there are computer gurus in this world. Of course it was some computer whiz that put the virus on the ‘net in the first place. Amazing what people do for kicks. So, y’all are probably wondering what’s been happening in the…

Zachary & Hannah’s Wedding – A Rustic Elegant Affair
Then it was the morning of the wedding! Rebekah was running on PA time so she was always awake early in the morning. So about 5:30 I texted my friend and said, “You awake?” She was and in about 30 minutes there were about 6 of us gathered in the hotel lobby discussing last-minute details. We headed over to the church about 7. The wedding was to begin at 12. The reception was outdoors, so we had been unable to do much setting up the night before. We had a few hours to set up and everyone was scurrying around, myself included, until my personal hairdresser showed up. Cassia was…

Rehearsal Dinner, Preparations & the Morning of the Wedding
The rehearsal dinner was held 2 days before the wedding which made it very nice for me since it gave me that day in-between the rehearsal and wedding to get everything in order for the reception. Since the wedding was to be held 1 1/2 hours from our place, we packed everything up and headed up the mountain in an entourage of 4 vehicles, 2 trailers and 16 people. Unfortunately, we left our house at the time we were supposed to be arriving. This caused everything to be thrown off schedule and so we arrived at the church and dropped off our food and headed for the rehearsal hall to…
