Wash Day
Laundry – I dont know why but I like to do laundry! When this new attitude crept up on me Im not sure; I didnt always care for it. Hearing the washer and dryer running makes me feel good inside. The room feels cozy and it can look tidy and clean for awhile, not like the kitchen which gets messed up so quickly. Mondays are my laundry day. This is the day that I try to get everything washed, ironed and put away. I dont always achieve this but I come close, at the very least making a pretty big dent in what has accumulated over the weekend. My kids fold…

The Weaver
The Weaver My life is but a weaving Between my Lord and me. I cannot choose the colors; He worketh steadily. Oftentimes he weaveth sorrow, And I in foolish pride Forget he sees the upper, And I the underside. What Can Wash Away My Sins?
A great devotional our family had one morning was when we took a cup of bleach (explaining that it represented the blood of Jesus) and dropped several drops of red food coloring into it (explaining that this represented our sins). We then sang a few songs like “What Can Wash Away My Sins”, an old-time gospel song. It was a special moment of wonder…

Advice Please – Review System Methods for Memorization
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to set up a review system for poems, scriptures, etc.? My kids memorize different things from each other so to set up a review system on index cards would take up a lot of space as they memorized more and more passages. I would like to set it up in a 3 ring binder if possible since I could then just photocopy whatever it is they are memorizing and not have to resize it for an index card. Also, how does your children work on memorizing verses? How often? So far, as far as reviewing goes, I have photocopied whatever they are memorizing…

Chef in the Making
My 14yo son made these whole wheat loaves completely by himself; from the grinding of the wheat to the final step of placing them in the oven. Just like the little red hen except he shared it with the rest of us. I'm sure glad he's generous. Mmmm… Tasty
