• A Clean Inbox and a New Recipe

Ta Da! The almost empty inbox.  I filed some papers but most of them I chucked.  What is left in there is a paper I need to type up, which I put a date on, and if it is not typed up by then – out it goes.  (This is putting the tip I told you about into action.)  Now, I know you didn’t have to come back to see my almost clean inbox but since you did… May I share a soup recipe that I made last night that went over very well with the family.  It is from the Betty Crocker Cookbook for Women.  I really like this cookbook. …

  • Decluttering Mania

I have been in a decluttering mode the last few days.  You know how you get comfortable with the way things are but then suddenly one day you look at it all and you can’t take it anymore?  Well, I’ve reached that point… at least for the time being.  Right now I’m attacking working on our office/schoolroom.  The room size is really not that big and yet it is the most used room (outside of the kitchen) in the house.  But all that is not so bad.  It’s all the papers I accumulate that get me.  Awhile back I bought 6 nifty inbox trays that stack and gave one to each of…

  • Nature Shots of Colorado

"Hello there." We hiked 1.7 miles to Gem Lake.  It wasn’t quite the "lake" we had in mind; it was more like a pond.  The hike took us through a lot of rock so it’s somewhat curious to think of there being a spot of water at the top.  There was even a small sandy beach to sit upon.    I always find it fascinating to see rocks perched on top of another.  You wonder, "How and when did it end up there?"  Notice the rock with the hole.   "Peek!"   I was so excited to come home and identify these wildflowers.  They almost had the look of a tulip to me. …

  • The 50th Anniversary Celebration

The anniversary celebration couldn’t have been any better. We started off the morning with breakfast – a normal way to start any day, would you not agree? J About noon we sent my parents off with all of the grandchildren except for the two smallest. They were to be gone until 4:00 p.m. At that point they could come back, rest and then get dressed for supper which was supposed to be at 5:00. First they took the grandchildren to a rock shop down the road. (There’s several very interesting rock shops in Estes Park.) They ended up at Lake Estes where they rented a car/bike that two people can…

  • Wonderin' Where I'm At?

In the Rocky Mountains to be precise.  I’m here with my family, my parents and my 2 sisters and their families.  We organized a trip here for my parent’s 50th wedding anniversary. We’re having a wonderful time.  If I can I’ll post later tonight… but I can’t promise anything since tonight is the big celebration.       Copyright 2008 Treasuring the Moments
