  • A Christmas Tea Tablescape

    December 5, 2011 / 5 Comments

Today I’m joining up with Layla at The Lettered Cottage.  We’re supposed to show some type of Table Decor for the holidays.  Well I kind of misunderstood and was thinking it just meant tablescapes. I got my Christmas tea set out that my mother gave me several years ago.  She purchased it from Spiegal.  (Are they still around?) They’re so delicate and have such a bright crisp pattern that I love.     d   Tea Time! Hot tea, shortbread, cucumber sandwiches… Mmmm… sounds warming!  The temperature outside right now is 29°F.   Sending you some warm Christmas Cheer. Linking up with: Romance on a Dime

Well how do you like that?! I left you all hanging without even a heeelllo to you this week. I’ve been busy doing some deep cleaning.  I got inspired after going for a day to my MIL’s and helping her.  My FIL was hit and ran over by a car 2 months ago and so mom has been his personal care assistant since he got out of the hosptial.  She has nights off because all her boys (my husband included) each take a night on with dad so that she can get some rest.  Since Christmas is right around the corner and the whole family will be gathering for a 3…

  • Audrey Turns 6!

    November 26, 2011 / 7 Comments

Two birthdays at my house this week!  Audrey is now… 6 Years Old!     She’s so much fun! Just tonight Serenity made some homemade Egg-Nog and Audrey came and said to me, “You want some Egg-Nob?” Some of my favorite things that she said this past year I wrote down and I guess now is the time to share them here on Treasuring the Moments. “Hook ups make you grow.” Singing Amazing Grace… “Amazing Grace How Sweet the Sound That saved a ranch like me.” Then she started singing it “Amazing Grace How Sweet the Sound That saved a wrench like me.” I tried to explain that it wasn’t wrench but she said,…

Serenity turned 14 today (Thanksgiving day).  I cannot tell you what a joy she has been to our home.  She’s so very sweet, helpful and completely unselfish.  Thank you, Lord for the blessing of Serenity Hope   A daughter is a day brightener and a heart warmer.  ~Author Unknown     A daughter is a little girl who grows up to be a friend.  ~Author Unknown

  • Our 2011 Thanksgiving Tablescape

    November 22, 2011 / 22 Comments

Not counting the experiment in our Thanksgiving menu, 🙂 we had a lovely Thanksgiving celebration on Sunday. I used the table runner I made with some muslin, scraps of material and the kids’ handprints. Gobble, Gobble, Gobble   The centerpiece was simple.  I took the idea from Melissa at Life on the Farm – a candle setting in corn. I found the pinecones and other decorations on clearance at Wal-Mart. There’s my turkey plates that I got on clearance last year from World Market for $.69 each.  The red plates were being clearanced at Kmart a few years ago because of slight imperfections.  The napkins came from World Market.     The small cards…
