Our Valentine’s varies depending on how busy life is at the moment. The last few years I have just fixed a nicer meal and had some sort of small gift for our kids at their plateand enjoyed the evening with our kids. This year with my sister sick I prepared her a meal (and my kids) and had some surprises for them and then after we dropped that off I surprised Darren and had a place reserved at a nice restaurant he has been talking about wanting to go back to (only been there once and that was the night of luke and Ariel’s engagement). I’ll have to say it was a perfect evening in so many ways.

We always try to do something special on Valentines. Last year we gave each other gifts, this year we went out on a date while Grandma kept the girls. It’s always nice to take time out for each other. 🙂 🙂

I like the idea of Valentine’s because although you want to make every day a good day to be together, sometimes you get caught up in the rush of life but something like Valentine’s makes you stop and focus on that sweetheart of yours.
