Gatherings,  Our Family

A Wedding Reception in a Barn – So Chic

The reception for Luke and Zoe was held in a newly built barn. Apparently, the original barn had been destroyed in a fire on this working farm and the owners rebuilt and used it for their daughter’s wedding and are now going to rent it out for events.

It was a lovely venue, so beautiful inside that decorations were hardly needed.

Before the reception started, there was appetizers at the back of the barn.

A lovely drink station was also stationed here.

Nut breads, crackers with cheese and meat along with fruit was served on top of pallets piled one on top of another. I didn’t get there till the reception was about to start, so no picture of the food since it was largely devoured.

Tic-tac-toe for entertainment. Aren’t those lady bugs and bees the cutest thing?

Cornhole was ready for play.

At the appointed time we were invited to join together in the barn.

We found what table we were to be seated at…

…and gathered together.

Sister of the bride and brother of the groom.

As favors the bride and groom gave packets of coffee from Tim Horton’s – a very popular coffee shop in Canada where the groom lives.

May I introduce to you Mr. and Mrs. Kitching!

The meal was a catered affair and was simply delicious!

My sister had a potato bar. The caterer was very easy to work with and allowed my sister to provide the toppings while she (the caterer) made all the twice-baked mashed potatoes.

I liked that my sister used potatoes for the food name holders. Cute idea.

My sister also had a salad bar which, once again, the caterer allowed her to provide.

My sis is so good at food presentation, something I am woefully lacking in but trying, trying trying to get better at doing. 🙂

Then… to top off the delicious meal there was an ice cream bar.

A little princess fixing her sundae up just right.

Another view of the bride and groom’s table. The floral bouquets were made by a lady in the church whose family owns a greenhouse. They were gorgeous.

Speeches were given…

Serenity and Hadassah were going to do a speech together but then became too timid, so I recorded it to give to Luke & Zoe at a later time.

And after a wonderful day of friends and family gathered together for this happy occasion, Luke & Zoe drove off into the night.

… and they lived happily ever after…

So happy for you both and we wish you a lifetime of joys and God’s blessings upon your lives.
