Stylin’ Hair with the Castle Keeper Girls
Since it’s been a few months since I updated you on what our Castle Keeper girls are doing, I thought I’d share what they’ve been doing the last month with you today.
In October we met for a Hair Styling Clinic. The girls learned how to care for their hair and how not to brush all their curls out once its been curled, how to use a curling iron as well as several different hairstyles. It was a very informative class.
The girls were inspired and I’ve been seeing and hearing of them trying new “do’s” since then.
October’s Monthly Challenge was to make an invitation using fancy lettering as well as make a tablescape.
Serenity chose to make an invite and tablescape with a Thanksgiving theme.
Serenity & Audrey’s invitation.
Here are two other invites that were pretty amazing from two other Castle Keeper girls.
Then in November we met for a soap making class. How fun that was!
For their soap molds the girls used Pringle chip cans. There was no lining their mold since it’s already coated on the inside of the can.But first you have to do something with all those chips, right?! 🙂
After 3 days you break the can apart and slice your soap.
Another new thing that we’ve started in our Google+ community is a Culinary Challenge. It’s optional whether the girls participate or not but one thing I really like is that it’s hosted by them.
The hostess (one of the CK girls) chooses a recipe of her choice and they have 1 month to make the food item. On the first Friday of the following month, all the girls that made the item will post and tell how they liked it, what changes they made, problems they ran into, etc. If they can not post on the designated day, they are allowed to post after but not before the appointed time.
October’s Culinary Challenge was Pumpkin Scones.
…and this month it’s Blueberry Sauce Crepes. Yum!
I’m really thankful for all the mom’s that are involved in the Castle Keeper’s group. All of us live a ways from each other and so it is a real sacrifice for these mom’s to take their daughter to the meetings. Some drive 2 hours every month to get to a meeting. That’s what motherhood is all about, isn’t it? A life of sacrifice. May God bless each of these ladies and our CK girls is my prayer.

Those are some lovely curls! Agree with you on this one – these curls need to set and shouldn’t be brushed/combed.
