4-H EXPO has come and went. That’s where our family spent the last several days. It’s a lot of fun and a great culmination to the raising of an animal for market.
First we loaded up the pigs. I make this sound a lot easier than it is sometimes!
This one was getting a last minute mud bath before being coaxed… and coaxed…. and coaxed into the horse trailer.
At EXPO they show twice – once for showmanship and the second time for confirmation. Serenity placed 3rd in the Senior division for Showmanship and her pig was Reserve Champion Crossbred. So not a bad year for our Missy.
A prize pig. 🙂
My niece Zoe flew in from Pennsylvania and is spending the week with us.
She’s a goat girl and shows and sells goats at her 4-H Auction in PA. So she’s been soaking in how we all operate here in AZ and gathering some ideas.
Looks like ALOT of fun. No I’ve never been apart of 4H but I did do a tiny bit of horse showing growing up as well as goat and chicken raising. =] Always enjoy the 4H’s efforts at our local fair each year. =]
No, I don’t still have goats but I do have 12 chickens for eggs. =] Someday we may get a few goats if we get some more land. We have an acre but its near full with landscaping, house, garage and garden.

It is a lot of fun. Do you still have goats. We like to have them for the milk.
