2013 EXPO Show & Sale

The EXPO show and sale is over.  The kids had a lot of fun and placed well in their classes.

After the confirmation class, where Justus placed 1st in the Yorkshire division, Whitey went back to his pen and stretched himself out with his head in the food bowl.  I guess he was wore out.  It must be hard work being a prize pig. 🙂

Audrey zipped around on her bike for 3 days.

I was so proud of Serenity. With her being on the shy side, she has had to work on this.  This year she went into the ring exhibiting confidence.

She won Reserve Best of Class for lamb confirmation.

Sale day arrived and it was time to get those animals looking ship-shape.  Soap, water & scrub brushes…

And the auction begins.  There were only 77 animals this year, a big drop from past years.  Part of the reason for the drop in memberships is because the economy slumped and people just weren’t paying much.  Kids ended up losing on their animals.  This year the prices were very good all the way through. Serenity and Justus did very well and are already looking forward to next year.

Wesley was feeling like quite the philanthropist.  He purchased a cake from the Silent Auction. The kids in our club all enjoyed eating it that night. 🙂

These dogs have progressed to where they can show them off-leash.  I can appreciate the amount of time they have invested in these dogs since ours have always been on the slightly unruly side. 🙂

That’s all!  Now that the show & sale is over, it’s time to put my full attention on Zachary & Hannah’s wedding reception meal.

After all it’s only 20 days! 🙂
