Mary, The chalkboard paint works pretty well, but it’s a must to have the right chalk. The can tells you what chalk to get. I actually use sidewalk chalk.

It looks really neat and I’m sure your winter mantel will be beautiful.

It feels lovely when the house is sparkling, doesn’t it?! I deep cleaned the bathroom, due to some mold that I saw when we took up the linoleum. I scrubbed it with bleach the first time, but later read that bleach won’t kill mold, so I scrubbed it two more times with ammonia. Hoping the mold is really dead.
