I really enjoyed reading this post and seeing how creative your were in presenting your meal! Our church does this too for families that have just had a baby. I’m sure it is so appreciated!

Kelly,

Thanks for the kind words. What a blessing the ladies of your church are to so many and to the widower who is probably a very lonely man. That’s a fantastic idea.

We do meals for new moms at our church too and also take turns making a meal for a widower
several times a week ( we each only have to make a meal for him once every three months since there are so many of us doing it).
I really appreciate new ideas for these meals, the labels are really cute and creative too.

I love the idea of giving soup in jars like that….it’s an easy way to
transport it plus it looks great!

I remember people bringing meals for us when Becca was born…that was so nice.

Words cannot express how very much I appreciated this huge act of love. I was thoroughly embarrassed that they saw my house at it’s worst (I was not supposed to do anything for the last four months of my pregnancy. (I did as much as I could get away with, and then had a C-section and was unable to do much before they arrived. Needless to say, I try to make a meal and/or clean house for all the new moms in this area, especially the ones with other children!
