Our Family

Happy 18th Birthday, Son

My oldest son has turned 18 as of yesterday.  It seems as if life is changing pretty quickly these days.  When they’re little it feels like forever but once they get about 12 it just starts to fly by.

I always thought I was so practical and logical minded.  I thought watching your kids grow up would be exciting and it was just a part of life, so deal with it.  But it has been completely different for me.  I actually get quite emotional thinking about it –  my little babies are growing up on me.

I thank God that He has given my son a desire to serve Him and that our family was blessed with this young man.

As sweet as they can be, boys WILL be boys.  We had a friend visiting us from Michigan and he thought it would be great fun to swim in our pond and get completely muddy.

I was shocked when I saw my son – this son, walking up the road covered in mud.  This was so out of character for him.  He’s usually much too mature for such things as this, leaving these kinds of things up to his brothers.

He thought it was just the greatest though.  Just when you think you’ve got them figured out…

Aw, happy birthday to your son! He sounds like a neat guy! I get pretty sappy too when I think about how quickly my children are growing and will soon be moving on. *sniff*

That second picture is so funny! He looks like a statue! LOL!

LOL! Love the picture of your son covered in mud. When I first saw the picture, it looked like a statue till I took a closer look and read your post again. That's sure a good one!

I love hearing from you! Thank you for taking the time to comment.
