Serenity with her matron of honor and cousin.Sisters…Austin’s cousins were the two junior bridesmaids.Our two grandchildren were the ring bearer and flower girl.GroomsmenGroom and Grandfather who was also Austin best man. Tragically, Austin’s father was killed when he was just a baby so his grandfather has been like a dad to him.Future brother-in-laws – Austin & WesleyFuture brother-in-laws – Austin & JustusAustin’s familySerenity – her name has always characterized her.Austin walked both of his grandmothers down the aisle.My father-in-law being his usual friendly self. 🙂My precious parents.Walking down the aisle is not that easy for me but on this day it wasn’t too bad. I loved walking with my oldest son and maybe I didn’t have lots of time to speculate about it. It was just time to go. The royal wave. hahaAustin did not want to see Serenity before she started down the aisle.And then she was there… The first lookSuch a bittersweet time for her daddy…There’s just something about this picture… Austin taking Serenity’s hand and Russell in the background – he no longer is the main man in her life.
We raise our children for this very purpose but change is a very difficult thing. You realize that the time you had with your children was just not enough. In just a few years it’s past.
Pledging themselves to each other for life for better or for worse.Our pastor who also dedicated Serenity when she was a baby.Russell and our daughter-in-law, Hannah sang “Household of Faith”. This song was sung at our wedding as well as Zachary & Hannah’s. ♥It thrills me that I had a son learn a musical instrument! We also had a close friend to play the violin.Little Hope taking it all in after her royal ride in the wagon.Zachary did the main part of the ceremony and I thought he did a wonderful job.Cousins share a moment…Austin and Serenity wrote their own vows to each other. It was beautiful.All the grandparents and pastors present prayed a blessing over the couple. ♥Austin and Serenity had a “unity tree”. Austin learned wood burning just to make this. On his property where they live now, there is a tree that they carved their initials into when they were dating.After they closed the two parts of the unity tree, they locked it, put the key in the bottle and while on their honeymoon, they threw the bottle into the ocean. Oh, by the way, the M stands for Austin’s first name which is Michael.Signing of the marriage license“I now pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride.”But first a little breath freshener. 🙂 (Austin has a great sense of humor.)Serenity didn’t want everyone seeing her first kiss, so only a few privileged few witnessed it. haha Yes!
