I have always done the same as you, Lily – a list along with pictures on the side for the little ones since they like color. I do have one card that I made that says “School Assignments”, individual subject cards is probably a better idea.

Love the way you have personalized the boards. I normally just have a computer generated list, although I thought I was doing great by adding clip art! I’m sure this would be a great motivator…I might do this and include each school subject as well.

In the past I have usually made my chore charts on computer.

I know that these chore boards may seem a little juvenile for older kids but I’m sure there is a way to manipulate this idea so they wouldn’t feel childish. There are books for ladies who need to get on schedule cleaning their house that use the index card system, so using colorful pictures and a little box might work for the older ones. I know Serenity’s eyeing their chore boards and kind of wishing she had one of her own. It just gives chores a fun little touch, I think.
